CUI’s International Partnerships centre organizes, contributes to, and participates in a variety of conferences, workshops, and symposia to share our international development experiences with our Canadian and international colleagues and to learn from international best practices in urban planning, sustainable development and local governance.

The World Urban Forum IV will be held November 3-7, 2008 in Nanjing, China. CUI will be involved in several different ways, beginning with pre-conference preparations and dialogues, both online and in person. Building on our experience convening Canadian and international leaders and mobilizing urban and local governance expertise, we plan to organize public engagement and dialogue opportunities that will lead to knowledge contributions for WUF IV. CUI will support our partners in contributing to the pre-conference discussions, and will plan for the attendance of several CUI staff and partners, from both our Canadian and our overseas offices, at WUF IV itself.
